Gabbinbar Homestead Wedding
Relaxed, Natural Photos at One of Queensland’s Most Beautiful Venues
If you’re planning a wedding at Gabbinbar Homestead, you already know, it’s something special.
From the gardens to the architecture, every corner is designed beautifully. Which also means… there’s no shortage of incredible photo locations.
But what made this wedding stand out wasn’t just the venue.
It was the people. (And one very important pug!)
A Wedding That Didn’t Follow the “Usual” Script
This day was for two incredible humans, and from the start, it felt relaxed, genuine, and completely their own.
No pressure to follow traditions that didn’t fit. No trying to recreate someone else’s version of a wedding.
Just a day that reflected them.
And honestly, that’s always when things feel the most natural.
Enter Betty (Best Dressed Guest, Obviously)
We need to talk about Betty.
Their gorgeous pug, who absolutely stole the show as both bridesmaid and ring bearer (iconic behaviour, honestly).
She brought just the right amount of chaos, cuteness, and perfectly timed distraction, which somehow made the whole day feel even more relaxed.
Because when there’s a pug in a wedding… everything feels a little less serious, in the best way.
Gabbinbar Homestead, A Photographer’s Dream (Without the Pressure)
Gabbinbar is one of those venues where everywhere you turn… it just works.
-
The gardens
-
The tree-lined driveway
-
The soft, open light around the homestead
It’s easy to feel like you need to “make the most of it” or get photos in every single spot.
But the key isn’t doing everything. It’s slowing down and letting the moments happen naturally within those spaces.
Not Your Typical Wedding Photos (And That’s the Point)
These photos aren’t about perfect posing or ticking off a shot list.
They’re about connection, movement and the way the day actually felt
Some moments were quiet. Some were full of laughter. (Some involved a pug doing her own thing.) All of them were real
Letting the Day Unfold Naturally
Rather than directing every second, we guided when needed, stepped back when the moment was already there and let things unfold.
Because when people feel comfortable, everything changes.
You stop thinking about the camera. You stop trying to “get it right”. And you just… enjoy your wedding.
A Reminder for Couples Planning Their Own Day
If you’re planning a wedding at Gabbinbar (or anywhere), here’s the most important thing:
👉 You don’t have to follow a template.
Whether that’s including your dog in the ceremony (yes please), skipping traditions or doing things your own way.
The best weddings are the ones that feel like you.
